Heinz Field Kick Off and Rib fest 

2019 Heinz Field Kickoff and Ribfest

The Heinz Field Kickoff and Ribfest is one of the best traditions in the ‘Burgh. This festival runs all weekend from August 29th-September 2nd and starts every day at noon and closes at 11 PM. 

Admission is FREE, but make sure you come with an empty stomach. Each day the Heinz Field Kickoff will showcase the best rib vendors in the country, great live music, and more. Here’s is the full schedule of the festival:

Thursday, August 29th

Party on the Plaza (7 PM) Watch the Pittsburgh Steeler vs. Carolina Panthers preseason game on the big screen outside of Heinz stadium.

Friday, August 30th

Live Music Entertainment from Gene The Werewolf (7:30 PM) and The Clarks ( 9:00 PM). Check out their latest music and bring a chair or a blanket for a night of great live music!

Saturday, August 31st

College Football Saturday kicks off with the Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Virginia Cavaliers (7:30 PM) Ticket Required.

Sunday, September 1st

Live Music Entertainment from Tim Litvin (7:30 PM) and Eli Young Band ( 9:00 PM). Check out their latest music and bring a chair or blanket for a night great live music!

Monday, September 2nd

Gatorade & Steelers 5k Race and Fitness Walk (8:00 AM) Registration Required.

Gatorade Junior Training Camp (2:00 PM) Registration Required.

Kayaking in the Steel City

The Allegheny County Labor Day Parade

The ACLC Labor Day Parade has been the largest Labor Day parade in the United States for the past 37 years. The event celebrates the men and women in the many unions of the Allegheny County Central Labor Council. The parade starts at 10:00 AM at the PPG Paint Arena and ends at the USW Building on the Blvd of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh. This is a great family-friendly event to wrap up the Labor Day weekend in Pittsburgh.
